Bronchos Visit Southeastern Tuesday

DURANT, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma baseball team is scheduled to play its first road game of the 2019 season Tuesday afternoon when the Bronchos take on Southeastern Oklahoma at the Ballpark in Durant. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Central Oklahoma is 5-2 on the season and already has one win over Southeastern this season. UCO beat SOSU 10-0 in the 2019 season opener in Edmond. The Bronchos won in eight innings that day.

"It's good that we've already seen them once, but Tuesday will be a different game," UCO head baseball coach John Martin said. "We just need to come out and be focused on playing our game."

UCO thus far this season has a team earned run average of 3.48. The Bronchos have 66 strikeouts through seven games played this season, 9.4 per game. Three of UCO's four starters already have double-digit strikeouts.

Central Oklahoma is hitting as a team .291 on the season. Brice West leads all hitters with 10 base knocks this season. The Bronchos have a combined 65 hits in seven games and have 44 RBIs. Paul Kropf, who has eight hits, has a team-high eight RBIs as well.

Southeastern hits .220 as a team and is averaging 2.9 runs per game. The Savage Storm has a team ERA of 5.49 and averages just over eight strikeouts per game.

Central Oklahoma will play Southwestern Oklahoma Wednesday back in Edmond. The Bronchos host SWOSU at 5 p.m. at Wendell Simmons Field to wrap up a six-games in six-days run before having the upcoming weekend off.
