Bronchos Tabbed As Favorites In MIAA Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Central Oklahoma tennis team was picked first in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Friday.

Central Oklahoma received seven first-place votes and a total of 79 points.

UCO finished second in the MIAA last season before making a deep postseason run. The Bronchos won 20 matches, including the NCAA Central Regional title, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tennis national quarterfinals.

The Bronchos are currently ranked ninth in the country, with freshman Isabella Dunlap ranked as the No. 2 singles player in the nation.

UCO opens the 2019 spring season next week, visiting the University of Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Bronchos make their home debut Feb. 15 against Cowley County (Kan.)
