Central Announces 2020 Baseball Schedule

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma baseball team announced Tuesday its 50-game schedule for the upcoming 2020 season.

Central Oklahoma will play 50 games in 2020, including 33 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. UCO won the MIAA in 2018 and played for the MIAA Championship in 2017 and 2019.

The Bronchos will also play 27 games at Wendell Simmons Field, with 23 away games on the schedule and two neutral-site competitions.

The 2020 season opens Friday, Jan. 31 with the second annual Edmond First Pitch Classic at Wendell Simmons Field. The Bronchos will host Henderson State on opening day. The 2020 MIAA Tournament is scheduled to take place in Joplin, Mo. this season from May 6-9. The NCAA Tournament will open May 14.

Central Oklahoma is led by fifth-year head coach John Martin, who has won 142 games over the past four seasons. The Bronchos have made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and have played for the Central Region championship twice in those three years.
