Broncho Duo Ready For Nationals

ROME, Ga. – Paola Landin and Nikki Boyar are set to open the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national finals this week with the University of Central Oklahoma doubles team tabbed as the No. 2 seed in 16-team tournament.

Landin and Boyar enter the finals after winning the ITA Central Regional championship two weeks ago in Oklahoma City.

The pair will play Thursday at 1 p.m. (CST) against Adelphi's Natalie Espinal and Sarah Wardenburg. A Thursday at 4:30 p.m. matchup will follow in either the winner or consolation brackets. Competition will continue throughout the weekend.

The duo has a 9-2 record this fall and has won six consecutive matches heading into nationals. Landin and Boyar are both 12-2 overall in doubles play this fall too, having won all three matches played with another teammate two months ago.

Landin earned All-American status last season as a doubles player. The two will look to position themselves for the same honor this year with the ITA national tournament.

Formerly known as the Small College Nationals, the ITA Cup has history dating back to 1986, and it is the only singles and doubles national championship event for the Division II and NAIA levels. This year, more then 8,000 players will take part in a total of 60 regional tournaments to gain entry into the ITA Cup field.
