Noah Hammons, O'Shay Harris Earn Don Hansen All-American Honor

BROOKFIELD, Ill. – The Don Hansen Football Committee Tuesday released its 2018 All-American teams and postseason awards and the University of Central Oklahoma had a pair of players recognized for their achievements.

Noah Hammons, a senior offensive lineman, and O'Shay Harris, a junior defensive back, were both awarded Don Hansen All-American Honorable Mention.

In 2018, Hammons, a senior from Moore, Okla., was a regular starter at right tackle for the Bronchos and aided in an offense that put up just under 30 points per game for the season. UCO averaged 29.3 points and also averaged 395.4 yards per game, which ranked seventh in the MIAA. Hammons earned First Team All-MIAA honors this season as well as Don Hansen All-Region recognition.

Hammons played in 41 games for the Bronchos over the past four seasons, making 34 starts. He played and started in all 11 games in 2016, all 12 games in 2017, and in 11 of 12 games in 2018. The Bronchos have scored 1,122 points since Hammons began playing on the UCO offensive line.

Harris, who was also named an American Football Coaches Association Second Team All-American and a D2Football.com Honorable Mention All-American, is now a three-time selection after his stellar junior season as a Broncho safety.

The Ardmore, Okla. native was second on the team with 74 tackles, including three behind the line of scrimmage. He also had eight pass breakups, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He took a fumble recovery 70 yards for a touchdown in Week 9 of this past season.
