Garrett, Wilson Pins Spark Bronchos

KEARNEY, Neb. (Jan. 19) – Dayton Garrett and Greg Wilson scored first-period falls to spark Central Oklahoma to a 28-12 win over Colorado Mesa Saturday morning in the Midwest Duals.

The No. 18-ranked Bronchos were locked in a 12-12 tie through six weights before taking the final four matches to put the Mavericks away. UCO improved to 8-2 and will take on Colorado School of Mines in its final dual of the event.

Garrett needed just 1:29 to end his 157-pound bout and that ended up being more than a minute longer than Wilson required. The senior heavyweight took just 23 seconds to dispose of Hunter Mooring in the final match.

Central also got a 13-4 major decision from 197 Colton Looper, while 125 Tanner Cole, 149 Ty Lucas, 174 Devin Crawl and 184 Heath Gray all had regular decisions.
