Biography

Two-time All-American at 157 pounds who will probably move to 165 this season … 2020-21 season ended in disappointment, but this senior veteran knows what it takes to succeed on the national stage and is eager to finish strong … Set to fill starting spot for fifth straight season and should again be a prime point-producer for the Bronchos in middle of the lineup … Tough, physical grappler with plenty of offensive firepower, both on his feet and when in control on the mat … Owns 66-22 career record with 29 bonus-point wins … Sixth-year senior, retaining a year of eligibility after the NCAA didn’t court the shortened 2020-21 season.

2021-22: Put together 19-5 record with nine bonus victories … Qualified for nationals with runner-up finish in Super Regional IV Tournament … Opened regional with 12-3 major decision and followed with easy 7-2 win before dropping 2-0 finals decision … Rolled to 12-4 major decision in first round at national tournament, but fell 6-5 in quarterfinals and was eliminated with 10-6 consolation loss … Started season 13-0, recording four straight bonus wins during one stretch … Went 5-0 to capture Lindenwood Open title.

2020-21: Finished 11-3 on the season while earning All-America accolades with fifth-place national finish … Went 5-1 in duals, then captured regional title with four wins while giving up just four escapes … Opened with 10-0 rout, then won 5-2 and 1-0 decisions before claiming 5-2 finals victory … Followed first-round bye at national tourney with 7-3 win before losing tough 3-1 semifinal setback … Dropped 4-3 double-overtime decision in consolation semis, then prevailed 9-3 in fifth-place bout … Finished season with 20-4 takedown advantage.

2019-20: Overcame slow start to finish 19-8 with six bonus wins … Was just 3-5 after sixth-place finish at Lindenwood Open, but went 16-3 rest of the way … Moved into national rankings after stellar runner-up finish in prestigious Midwest Classic … Missed some late-season duals to injury, but was ranked No. 3 entering Super Regional IV Tournament and earned national tournament berth with runner-up finish … Won three hard-earned matches in making the finals before dropping 3-1 sudden-victory decision, ending an eight-match winning streak … Earned All-America recognition by the National Wrestling Coaches Association after the national tournament was canceled by the coronavirus pandemic

2018-19: Battled for starting berth at 149 the first half of the season before moving up to 157 and finished 17-6 with 11 bonus-point wins, including five technical falls and five major decisions … Scored 10-plus points in 11 of his wins … Captured 149-pound title at Nebraska-Kearney Open and was runner-up at the weight in the Oklahoma City Open … Lost two overtime matches in finishing sixth at the Regional IV Tournament.

2017-18: Had 9-2 record during redshirt year while competing unattached in two open tournaments ... Won the Oklahoma City Open, going 5-0 in that meet with two falls, two major decisions and a technical fall ... Went 4-2 at the Nebraska-Kearney Open.

High School: Put together phenomenal 125-3 record at Plainview High School in Ardmore in winning three straight state championships and helping the Indians capture two team titles . . . Went 44-1 as a sophomore, 49-2 as a junior and 32-0 as a senior . . . All-State pick after his final season.
