Biography

Senior big man who joined the team late for his final semester of competition ... Was a national qualifier at 197 pounds for the Bronchos in 2016-17, then sat out last year ... Will compete at heavyweight the second semester and is a legitimate All-America contender ... Intense competitor with great quickness and strength ... Started career at Division I Oklahoma before coming to UCO.

2017-18:  Sat out the year.

2016-17:  Enjoyed fantastic season at 197, finishing 33-8 with 18 bonus-point wins, including 11 falls ... Ripped off 21 straight wins during one stretch ... Won titles at the Jet Invitational and MIAA Championships in addition to finishing third at the Oklahoma City Open, fourth at the Lindenwood Open and fourth at the NCAA Division II West Regional ... Earned national tournament berth with that fourth-place finish, but went 0-2 there with losses to a pair of All-Americans.

2015-16: Went 3-2 at the Lindenwood Open while sitting out redshirt year, his only competition of the year.

2013-15 (OU):  Redshirted his first year with the Sooners and then saw considerable action at 184 in 2013-14 and again in the first semester the next year before transferring.

High School:  Three-time state champion at Central High School, finishing with a spectacular 180-6 career record ... Also a USA Wrestling national champion and was the 14th-ranked high school 195-pounder by Amateur Wrestling News ... Four-time member of Texas national team.

Personal:  Education major looking to become a coach ... Enjoys fishing as a hobby ... Names “Rocky” as his favorite sports movie ... Birthdate is Nov. 6, 1993.
