Sey entered the national finals with the fifth-highest jump in the country this season. The Spiro, Okla. native cleared easily her first jump of the day Friday of 1.63 meters. Her second jump missed at 1.68 meters, but the freshman responded, clearing it on her next attempt.

But that would be the highest Sey could get at the national meet. She faulted three times at 1.72 meters and was eliminated from the finals.

Sey had an outstanding freshman campaign, qualifying for the national championship in her first collegiate meet, taking first-place honors in two outdoor events this season, and finishing in the top-five on five occasions.
