The changing wind made the 4000-meter course more challenging than anticipated for the crews. The Varsity 4 boats began the day with the V4+ C boat placing 13th with a time of 16:36.6 amongst the 25 entries. The V4+ B crossed the line 17th with a time of 16:48.2, and the V4+ D 22nd, with a time of 18:49.2. The V4+ A boat was less than 500 meters from finishing the race when it became swamped from the choppy course and was unable to continue.

The Bronchos finished 10th place in the Novice 8+.

"I am extremely happy with how these girls went out and performed their best with how rough the conditions were, especially with it being their first race ever," Assistant Coach Caroline Escobar said. "I couldn't have asked anything more from them."

The Novice 4+ races were canceled due to the weather.

The Varsity 8+ boats looked to improve their times from their previous races against the opposing schools. The V8+ finished 6th with a time of 14:44.3, just squeezing past K State's B boat by 0.5 seconds. The 2V8+ crossed the line 15th with a time of 15:43.0.

"We performed very well overall this weekend," UCO rowing head coach Montia Rice said. "We've never placed this high at this regatta and have beaten boats we never have before, which is very exciting to see this early in the year."

The Bronchos will be racing at the Tulsa Fall Invitational on Nov. 3 and the novices will be traveling to the Wichita Frostbite Regatta on Nov. 4.
