OKLAHOMA CITY – The University of Central Oklahoma baseball team visits Oklahoma Christian Wednesday for a non-conference matchup between neighboring schools. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Bronchos are 9-2 on the season and won two of three this past weekend at Southwest Baptist. Oklahoma Christian also won two of three last weekend but are 8-7 on the season. OC beat Cameron at home last Friday before splitting a doubleheader in Lawton on Saturday.

UCO All-American Jon Kamies continues to lead the Bronchos at the plate. The first baseman and outfielder is hitting .432 on the season and leads the team with 12 RBIs and three home runs.

Kamies shares both of those team-leading numbers with fellow outfielder Korey Floyd, who is hitting .357. Floyd holds the team-high for runs scored all to himself. He has crossed the plate 14 times in 11 games.

Another outfielder, Jake Dyer, joins Kamies and Floyd to form a trio of terror in the Broncho lineup.

Dyer, a junior, is hitting .409 on the season and leads the team with 18 hits. He is second to Kamies and Floyd with nine RBIs. And Dyer is second to only Floyd with 11 runs scored.

Kamies, Floyd, and Dyer each have a team-high three doubles this season.

The trio has lifted the Broncho offense on the young season. UCO is averaging 8.5 runs per game this season, is hitting .321 as a team, and has a combined 23 extra base hits.

Lane Paul and Hayden Strobel lead Oklahoma Christian's offense heading into Wednesday. Paul is hitting .395 in 13 games played this season. Strobel is hitting .342.

Paul has a team-high 15 hits and 11 RBIs. Strobel is second on the team with 13 hits.

Central Oklahoma owns a 56-39 record against Oklahoma Christian since 1959. The schools did not play last season. The second and final game between UCO and OC for this season is scheduled for Wednesday, March 15.
