JOPLIN, Mo. - The University of Central Oklahoma women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Missouri Southern State on Thursday night.

The match between Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association foes did not count toward conference play.

UCO struck first in the match, something they've done now in every match of the season. But, Asha Haile's third goal of the season would be the only goal the Bronchos could manage on the night.

In the 24th minute, Haile took a pass from Caitlin Moore and netted the game's first score.

Missouri Southern State answered just 10 minutes later when Brianna Smith slotted home the equalizing score. Jazzleen Wharry, who assisted on Smith's goal, put the game-winning goal past Central goalkeeper Ally Salls in the 67th minute.

The Bronchos attempted 18 shots on the night, with six on target. Salls made four saves on the night, playing the full 90 minutes for the Bronchos.

UCO (4-2-1) continues its road trip through southwest Missouri this weekend. The Bronchos pay a visit to Southwest Baptist on Saturday before returning to Edmond.
