UCO Ties For Tourney Title

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Feb. 17) –
Logan Gray fired a final-round 73 to lead a final-round comeback that earned Central Oklahoma a share of the team title in the San Antonio Shootout here Tuesday.
 
The Bronchos trimmed 25 shots off Monday's first-round score in closing with a tournament-best 305 to finish with a 635 total in the 36-hole tournament that was shortened from the scheduled 54-hole event by cold weather.
 
Midwestern State had a final-round 312 to share the championship with UCO, while Incarnate Word was 11 shots back in third.  Oklahoma Christian and Dallas Baptist tied for fourth in the 14-team tournament at 647.
 
Gray's one-over-par round was the best of the day on San Antonio's AT&T Oaks Course, which is home to the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open.
 
Russ Purser added a 75, while Wesley Jackson shot 78, Cody Troutman 79 and Eli Armstrong 80.  Alexander Hughes had an 86 and Gavin Mastell a 91 playing as individuals.
 
Purser tied for fourth in the medalist standings with a 154 total, with Gray coming in eighth at 157.
 
UCO doesn't play again until going to Danville, Ark. March 9-10 for the Dave Falconer Invitational hosted by Arkansas Tech.
