UCO Ready For MIAA Semifinals

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Nov. 6) – Streaking Central Oklahoma goes against intrastate rival Northeastern State for the third time this season in the semifinals of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Post-season Tournament here Friday night.
 
Regular season champion and No. 9-ranked Central Missouri (17-2) takes on fifth-seeded Fort Hays State (11-7-1) at 4 p.m. in the first semifinal before the second-seeded Bronchos, (12-5-2) meet the third-seeded RiverHawks (14-4-1) at 7 p.m.
 
The two semifinal winners meet for the tournament title and an automatic berth into the NCAA Division II national tournament at 1 p.m. Sunday.
 
UCO is riding a season-high five-game winning streak, having outscored those five teams 16-4.  The Bronchos beat Nebraska-Kearney 3-1 in Wednesday's first round.
 
NSU advanced to the semifinals with a 1-0 home win over Missouri Western.
 
UCO owns a big 18-2-1 series advantage over the RiverHawks, including wins of 1-0 and 3-1 this season.
 
MIAA Freshman of the Year Katie Killion leads the Bronchos in goals (10), assists (five) and points (25), while rookie Kentia Kokis has seven goals and one assist.  Eleven other players have scored at least one goal.
 
NSU is paced by Anastasia Robinson (12 goals, nine assists) and Jennifer Cudjoe (eight goals, seven assists).
