Regular Season Ends For UCO This Week

BRONCHOS ON THE ROAD: Central Oklahoma wraps up the regular season schedule this week with a pair of road Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association games.

The Bronchos, 9-5-2 on the season and 5-2-2 in the league, go to Tahlequah, Okla. To take on intrastate rival Northeastern State (13-3, 7-2) at 7 p.m. Thursday before traveling to Joplin, Mo. to face Missouri Southern (2-13-1, 0-8-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday.

UCO is third in the conference standings with 17 points. The RiverHawks and Central Missouri are tied for the lead with 21 points, while Fort Hays State and Southwest Baptist are tied for fourth behind the Bronchos with 15 points.

The top-four teams in the regular season standings host first-round games in the MIAA Post-season Tournament Nov. 4, with the semifinals and finals hosted by the regular season champion or highest remaining seed.

ABOUT THE BRONCHOS: UCO has outscored its opponents 26-23 this season and has played four overtime games, winning two and tying two.

Freshmen Kentia Kokis and Katie Killion share the team scoring lead with 15 points apiece. Kokis has a team-high seven goals and one assist, while Killion has six goals with three assists.

Nine other players have scored for the Bronchos.

Freshmen have scored 21 of UCO's 26 goals this season.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: The Bronchos have already played NSU and MSSU this season, though neither game counted in the conference standings.

UCO beat the RiverHawks 1-0 back on Sept. 17 on Kentia Kokis' goal in the 51^st minute. The Bronchos own a big 17-2-1 advantage in the rivalry.

NSU had outscored its opponents 50-10 this year.

The Bronchos blanked MSSU 4-0 last Friday, getting goals from four different players in taking an 8-0-1 lead in the series.

The Lions have been outscored 34-14.
