UCO Is Runner-up at Southern Plains

OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 27) – Eli Armstrong and Cody Troutman had top-10 finishes to lead Central Oklahoma to a runner-up showing in the Southern Plains Intercollegiate that wrapped up Tuesday at Gailardia Country Club.

The Bronchos shot a closing 294 at the 7,018-yard, par-72 layout to end with an 880 total in the two-day, 54-hole tournament. Oklahoma City won the 10-team event by seven shots over UCO, followed by Wayland Baptist (885), Texas Wesleyan (899) and St. Gregory's (902).

Troutman and Eric Kline paced the Bronchos with even-par 72s, while Armstrong shot 74, Gavin Mastell 76 and Russ Purser 83. Alberto Nava had a 79 and Wesley Jackson an 80 playing as individuals.

Armstrong tied for second in the medalist standings with a one-under-par 215 total, with Troutman tying for sixth at 217.

It was the final fall tournament for the Bronchos.
