MARYVILLE, Mo. (Sept. 28) -- Another stout defensive effort and Emily Precure's first-half goal propelled Central Oklahoma to a 1-0 shutout of Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rival Northwest Missouri here Sunday afternoon.

It was the second 1-0 road win in three days for the Bronchos, who blanked Missouri Western by the same score Friday on Reagan Ballard's last-minute score.

This time it was Precure knocking in the game-winner, getting the lone goal just two minutes before the end of the half.  The junior midfielder took an Elle Aston pass and beat NWMSU's goalkeeper with a shot to the near post for her first score of the season.

UCO's defense did the rest, keeping the Bearcats at bay the rest of the way and allowing just three shots on goal.  Freshmen Elle Stover rejected all of those to record her second straight shutout between the posts.

"We had some great scoring chances and just couldn't get them to go, but our defense was strong and we came out with a really good win," head coach Mike Cook said.  "It's big any time you can go on the road and win two games in this conference, so I was proud of our effort and determination this weekend."

The Bronchos, now 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in the league, return home Friday to host Washburn at 4 p.m.
