ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (Sept. 26) –
Reagan Ballard picked the perfect time to score her first college goal, knocking in a corner kick with 41 seconds left to lift Central Oklahoma to a thrilling 1-0 victory over Missouri Western here Friday night.

The freshman defender from Edmond re-directed Emily Precure's hard-hit corner into the net from close range to break a scoreless deadlock and hand the Bronchos a much-needed road win.

UCO improved to 5-2 on the season and 2-1 in league play heading into Sunday afternoon's game at Northwest Missouri.

"Winning on the road is tough in this conference and that was a big one for us," head coach Mike Cook said.  "We played hard and did a great job defensively, but just couldn't get anything in the net until the end."

The Bronchos stymied the Griffons throughout the contest in allowing just eight shots.  Freshman goalkeeper Elle Stover went the distance between the posts and stopped in picking up her first career shutout.

UCO had 16 shots, including 10 on goal.
