EDMOND (Sept. 21) –
Southwest Baptist attacked early and often to put Central Oklahoma in a quick hole and the Bronchos never recovered in dropping a 4-1 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association decision Sunday afternoon at Tom Thompson Field.

UCO gave up a goal and a long breakaway run just 3:32 into the game and was down 3-0 by the 25-minute mark of the opening half en route to having its four-game winning streak snapped by the Bearcats.

The Bronchos fell to 4-2 on the season and 1-1 in league play, while SBU improved to 4-1 and 2-0.

"We came out a little flat and they (SBU) just took it right at us," head coach Mike Cook said.  "It's tough to come back after getting down 3-0, but I thought we played better in the second half.  We just have to put this behind us and get ready for the next one."

The teams ended up with the same number of shots (11), but UCO didn't get its first one until 24 minutes into the game and the game was 49 minutes old before the Bronchos had a shot on goal.

Emily Hahn had the lone score for UCO, banging in a shot from 10 feet away off a deflection in the 52nd minute to get the  Bronchos within 3-1.

UCO couldn't convert two good scoring chances in the next 10 minutes and the Bearcats put the game away with the final goal at the 62:15 mark.

The Bronchos resume conference play Friday at Missouri Western before moving on to Northwest Missouri Sunday.
