TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (Sept. 19) –
Gabi Bochus scored both Central Oklahoma goals and the Bronchos continued their dominating defensive play in shutting out Northeastern State 2-0 here Friday night.

It was the fourth straight win for UCO, which improved to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play heading into Sunday's 1 p.m. home game against Southwest Baptist.

"We played pretty good, especially defensively, but we need to pick up our intensity and there's still a long ways to go," head coach Mike Cook said.  "We're making progress and just need to keep getting better every time we step on the field."

Bochus put UCO in front in the 21st minute when she easily converted a penalty kick and the junior forward made it 2-0 10 minutes into the second half when she took an Emily Precure pass on the left side and hammered in a shot to the far post.

Brandi Bartley went the distance in goal for the third straight game and posted her second straight shutout, rejected the only three shots she faced as UCO's defense kept the RiverHawks at bay throughout the game.
