Bronchos Back On The Road

Unbeaten Central Oklahoma goes back on the road for its second straight tournament this weekend when the Bronchos stay in state for the South Central Classic.
 
UCO, 6-0 on the young season, will play two matches Friday in Ada and two Saturday in Durant.
 
The Bronchos take on Texas A&M-International (0-2) at 10 a.m. and East Central (0-5) at 5 p.m. Friday before facing Southeastern Oklahoma (2-3) at 10 a.m. and New Mexico Highlands (2-2) at 2 p.m. Saturday.
 
LAST WEEK:  UCO went 4-0 at the Henderson State Classic last weekend in Arkadelphia, Ark., dropping just one set during the weekend.
 
The Bronchos swept the host Reddies, Union (Tenn.) and McMurry while beating Southeastern Oklahoma in four sets.
 
ABOUT THE BRONCHOS:  UCO has dropped just one set in its first 6-0 start and has a .337 attack percentage.
 
Four players with 40-plus attacks are hitting over .300, led by sophomore Allison Barr's sizzling .522.  She has 53 kills and just five errors in 92 attacks.
 
Freshman Erika Warren is hitting .375 (18 kills, three errors, 40 attacks), freshman Madison King .370 (41 kills, seven errors, 92 attacks), and junior Barbara Jackson .319 (50 kills, 14 errors, 113 attacks).
 
Senior Juliette Smith has collected 19 blocks (nine solo, 10 assisted) already.  She ranks fourth in career solo blocks at UCO with 78, needing two for third, and is fifth in career assisted blocks with 319.
 
UP NEXT:  The Bronchos host Missouri Southern at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, Sept. 16, in their Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association debut.
