EDMOND (March 29) –
Matt Johnson hit the second of his two home runs in a fifth inning second-game rally that lifted Central Oklahoma to a come-from-behind victory and a doubleader sweep of intrastate rival Northeastern State Saturday afternoon at Wendell Simmons Field.

The Bronchos rolled to an 8-0 rout in the first game before rallying for a 9-4 win in the nightcap, improving
to 20-7 on the season and 16-7 in Mid-America Intercollegiate AthleticS Association play.  NSU fell to 14-16 overall and 10-13 in the league heading into Sunday's 1 p.m. series finale.

UCO trailed 4-1 entering the bottom of the fifth of the nightcap before Wacey Henderson started the comeback with a run-scoring single.  Ross Rose's ground ball went through the legs of NSU's third baseman to score two more runs and tie the game and one out later Johnson smacked his second homer of the game to give the Bronchos a 7-4 lead.

Robbie Hoffman capped the seven-run fifth when he scored on a wild pitch and Dilon Argo added an insurance run in the sixth with his fourth homer of the season.

Johnson finished 2-for-3 with four runs batted in and his two dingers gave him the team lead with nine.

Joe Hollowell earned the win in relief to move to 2-2 on the season.

Ricky Reeves and Landon Hallam combined on a four-hitter in the opener as the Bronchos pitched their second consecutive shutout of the series.

Reeves won his sixth straight decision to improve to 6-0, allowing just three hits in five innings of work.

The Bronchos broke open a 2-0 game with five runs in the fourth inning. Tyler Crabtree blooped a single just over the second baseman that scored two runs and Josh Ingram clubbed a two-run double to make it 7-0 and UCO coasted in from there.
