ST. CHARLES, Mo. (Nov. 7)  --
Allison Barr and Barbara Jackson had 11 kills apiece to lead streaking Central Oklahoma to a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association sweep of Lindenwood here Friday night.

The Bronchos improved to 26-4 on the season and 15-4 in the league with the 25-22, 25-14, 25-17 victory, stretching their winning streak to seven straight.  UCO moves on to Warrensburg, Mo. Saturday to challenge No. 19-ranked and conference co-leader Central Missouri at 3 p.m.

"We played well at times and did a good job taking care of business," head coach Edgar Miraku said.  "It's tough to travel and play again tomorrow afternoon, but that's going to be a big match and we're looking forward to it."

Barr hit a sizzling .526 with 11 kills and just one error in 19 attacks, while adding two service aces and an assisted block.  Jackson hit .276 with her 11 kills and also had eight digs.

The Bronchos also got five kills from Bonnie Vernon and four from Sabetha YoungWhitney Gifford (15 digs) and Mikayla Bangasser (11) paced the defense and Katy Davis had 27 assists.

UCO trailed most of the early going in the first set before getting four Lindenwood errors in a 5-0 run that turned a 14-13 deficit into an 18-14 lead.  Barr had two laser shots down the middle in keeping the Bronchos on top 20-17 and Vernon ended it with a shot down the middle.

Central took the lead early in the second set and was up 8-4 after back-to-back Jackson service aces.  It was a 14-11 advantage when the Bronchos broke it open with five unanswered points, getting two aces from Barr and two kills from Jackson.

The Lions had a 7-4 lead in the third set before Vernon sparked a rally that enabled UCO to close out the match.  The sophomore outside hitter made three kills and teamed up with Barr for a block during a 7-0 spurt that put the Bronchos on top 11-7 and the lead soon grew to 16-8.

Lindenwood battled back to within 23-16 before kills by Joanna Huckabee and a Lion error ended the match.
