UCO CELEBRATES HOMECOMING:  Central Oklahoma wraps up a two-game homestand and celebrates Homecoming Saturday when the Bronchos take on long-time intrastate rival Northeastern State.

Kickoff at 10,000-seat Wantland Stadium is 2 p.m. for the annual President's Cup battle.

UCO is 6-2 on the season and in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, having clinched its first winning season since 2008.  The RiverHawks are 0-8 overall and in the conference.

The Bronchos were picked 10th (coaches) and 11th (media) in the pre-season MIAA polls, while NSU was tabbed 12th by both.

RECEIVING VOTES:  UCO continued to receive votes in the American Football Coaches Association poll, finishing with 11 points this week.

The Bronchos haven't been in the AFCA poll since Sept. 6, 2005 (No. 24).

ABOUT THE SERIES:  UCO owns a big 45-27-2 lead in a rivalry that dates back to 1912, but the RiverHawks have won the last four meetings.  NSU has also won the last two games in Edmond, including a 22-20 victory two years ago in the last meeting in Wantland Stadium.

The two teams started playing for the President's Cup in 1998, with NSU holding a 9-7 advantage in those games.

ABOUT LAST YEAR:  UCO dropped a wild 45-38 road decision to Northeastern State in the 2013 season finale when a fourth-quarter rally fell short.  QB T.J. Eckert hit 33-of-50 passes for 385 yards and three TDs with five interceptions and WR Marquez Clark tied a school record with 13 catches for 156 yards.

UCO AT HOME:  The Bronchos have a 160-90-5 record in their 50th season in Wantland Stadium.

UCO is 3-1 at home this season, beating Missouri Western (26-17), Missouri Southern (43-41 in triple overtime) and Washburn (35-26) while losing to defending national champion Northwest Missouri (36-13).

Wantland Stadium received a massive upgrade this summer with the installation of a video board that is the second-largest in NCAA Division II.

LAST WEEK:  QB Chas Stallard rushed for 158 yards and the clinching 60-yard touchdown with 3:40 left to play, RB Jake Gandara ran for 123 yards and two scores and UCO overcome a 10-0 first-quarter deficit in downing Washburn 35-26.

NEXT WEEK:  UCO makes its final road trip of the regular season, traveling to St. Charles, Mo. to take on Lindenwood.
