Biography

Record-setting senior star and one of the most electrifying players in the country . . . Returning All-American who ranks among the nation’s elite as both a wide receiver and kick returner . . . Should be one of the top contenders for the 2014 Harlon Hill Trophy that goes to the best player in NCAA Division II . . . Shifty speedster who’s a threat to go the distance every time he touches the ball, whether as a receiver or returner . . . Will once again be UCO’s top target in the passing game and excels in turning short catches into long gains while also able to burn teams deep with his great speed . . . Was a two-year standout at Navarro College before signing with Kansas State in the summer of 2012, but opted to come to UCO that fall and sat out the season before showcasing his considerable talents last fall.
 
2013:  Established single-season school records for receptions (82) and all-purpose yards (2,249) in becoming one of 28 candidates for the Harlon Hill Trophy . . . Earned first-team All-America honors from d2football.com (wide receiver) and second-team All-America accolades from Beyond Sports Network (wide receiver) and Don Hansen’s Football Gazette (all-purpose back) . . . Also set single-game school marks for receptions (13, twice) and punt return yards (127) . . . Averaged 16.4 yards a catch in finishing with 1,348 receiving yards -- the second-best season in school history -- while adding 532 yards on 23 kickoff returns (23.1 average) and 326 yards on 18 punt returns (18.1 average) . . . Led Division II in all-purpose yards with 224.9 a game and tied for the national lead in punt return touchdowns (two) . . . Topped the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in receptions per game (8.2), receiving yards per game (134.8) and punt return average, finishing third nationally in receiving yards per game . . . Was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week twice and was a first-team All-MIAA selection and first-team Daktronics All-Region Three pick . . . Had three of the top 10 single-game all-purpose yardage totals in school history -- 365 vs. Emporia State (second), 338 vs. Missouri Western (third) and 284 vs. Lincoln (seventh) . . . Caught at least five passes in eight of UCO’s 10 games, with six of eight-plus . . . Set single-game reception mark with 13-catch outing against Emporia State, racking up 236 yards for the third-highest yardage mark . . . Equaled that record by grabbing 13 passes for 156 yards against Northeastern State . . . Had five touchdown catches (11, 21, 34, 48 and 69 yards) and also scored on punt returns of 55 and 60 yards . . . Made 10 catches of 30-plus yards and had four punt returns of 40-plus yards . . . Eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark eight times -- Emporia State (236), Lincoln (9-165), Northeastern State (156), Missouri Western (9-139), Missouri Southern (4-137), Northwest Missouri (5-128), Washburn (7-125) and Central Missouri (12-123).
 
Juco:  Earned Southwest Junior College Football Conference Player of the Year and first-team All-America honors as a sophomore at Navarro under now-UCO head coach Nick Bobeck . . . Caught 98 passes for a single-season NJCAA-record 1,639 yards and 14 touchdowns to help lead the Bulldogs to a 10-2 record . . . Had 10-plus receptions in 10 games, capped by 13-catch, 186-yard effort in 40-24 Heart of Texas Bowl win over New Mexico Institute . . . Also averaged 26.1 yards a kickoff return (38-993) and 20.3 yards a punt return (10-203) for his career, scoring on an 84-yard punt return . . . Snared 28 passes for 400 yards and five TDs on Navarro’s national championship team in 2010.
 
High School:  Three-sport star at Liberty-Eylau High School in Texarkana, Texas . . . All-District and All-Northeast Texas selection in football while picking up All-District and All-Area honors in basketball and All-State accolades in track . . . Set school records in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and was a fifth-place state finisher in the 100 as a senior.
