Gibbs Joins Argentina Team

OBERA, Argentina (Oct. 15) – Former Central Oklahoma star Josh Gibbs will make his professional debut Wednesday night with the Obera Tennis Club team in the Argentinian Basketball League.

Gibbs, a 6-foot-5 guard/forward who ended a two-year career with the Bronchos last season, joined the Obera team Monday.

He led UCO to a 20-10 record and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Post-season Tournament finals in 2013-14, earning All-America honors.

Gibbs ranked among the NCAA Division II leaders in scoring (21.6 points/game) and rebounding (11.1 rebounds/game) while adding 2.5 assists a contest. He made a team-high 81 3-pointers and had 20 double-doubles, fourth-best in Division II.

The Kansas City, Mo. native finished the season ranked fifth in rebounds (333) and ninth in points (648) on UCO's single-season list and he's 26th in career scoring with 1,155 points.
