Bronchos Go To Missouri Southern

Central Oklahoma opens a four-game road-swing and begins its Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association schedule Friday when the Bronchos travel to Joplin, Mo. to take on Missouri Southern.

Game-time at Hal Bodon Field is 6 p.m. The Bronchos are 2-3 on the season, while the Lions are 1-3.

UCO follow's Friday's contest with a trip to Weatherford Sunday for a non-conference showdown against No. 24-ranked Southwestern Oklahoma (2-1-1) at 1 p.m.

The Bronchos have a 5-0 series lead over MSSU and won last year's meeting 4-0. UCO leads the SWOSU rivalry 15-1, with the Bulldogs earning their first-ever win last year with a 2-1 victory in Edmond.

Kate Foran and Sarah Purcell are the team's leading scorers with five points apiece, each having tallied two goals and one assist.

Brandi Bartley and Emily Thornbrugh have both seen time in goal, with Thornbrugh going the distance in Sunday's 1-0 win over Texas Woman's that stopped a three-game losing streak.

UCO isn't home again until hosting MIAA rival Missouri Western Oct. 4.
