RiverHawks Hand UCO 2-0 Setback

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (Oct. 25) –
Northeastern State scored two second-half goals to topple Central Oklahoma 2-0 and hand the Bronchos their third straight Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association defeat here Friday night.
 
UCO battled the RiverHawks on even terms in the first 45 minutes as both teams had five shots, but NSU outshot the Bronchos 13-6 in the second half and punched in two scores.
 
NSU's first goal came at the 59:14 mark and the RiverHawks added the clinching score just 24 seconds remaining.
 
"We had a good first half and were right in the game, but we made some mistakes in the second half that cost us," head coach Mike Cook said.  "It was a tough loss."
 
UCO fell to 6-9-1 on the season and 3-5-1 in league play.  NSU improved to 12-3 and 6-3.
 
The Bronchos end the regular season next week with home conference games against Washburn and Southwest Baptist.
