DALLAS, Texas (Sept. 12) --
Freshman Kimberly Linder came off the bench to score the first two goals of her college career and spark No. 10-ranked Central Oklahoma to a big 2-0 blanking of No. 9 Dallas Baptist here Wednesday night.

The unbeaten Bronchos moved to 5-0 with the impressive road shutout that was a defensive battle most of the night.  Linder took five of UCO's six shots and delivered one goal in each half, while Meagan Burke stopped both DBU offerings that reached the net.

"We played hard against a good, tough team on their field and came out with a great win," head coach Mike Cook said.  "We did a good job of finishing our chances and our defense was really strong.  We still need to keep focused and more composed on both ends, but we're happy to come out on top and just want to keep getting better."

Linder tallied her first goal just five minutes after entering the game midway through the opening half, taking a feed from Kate Foran and knocking in a shot to the left corner of the net.

The rookie forward stayed in the game to start the second half and made it 2-0 just three mintues in when she gathered in a turnover in front of the DBU goal and scored from close range.

DBU didn't come close to scoring the rest of the game and the Bronchos cruised in with the crucial regional victory.

UCO returns home Friday to make its Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association debut against Missouri Southern.  Game time is 4 p.m. at Tom Thompson Field.
