ADA, Okla. (Sept. 25) -- Brittni Walker knocked in the game's only goal in the 78th minute to lift streaking Central Oklahoma to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over East Central here Sunday afternoon.

It was the sixth straight win for the Bronchos, with four of those by shutout. UCO, now 6-3 on the year, is back in action Thursday at home when it hosts Dallas Baptist at 4 p.m.

"We had some good scoring chances, but just weren't able to take advantage," head coach Mike Cook said. "Brittni came up with a big goal and our defense did a great job again. It was a good win on the road and we just want to keep getting better."

UCO outshot the Tigers 17-6 and had nine shots on goal, but ECU's goalkeeper rejected all but one of those.

That was Walker's game-winner, which came at the 77:39 mark when the junior forward took a Lizzie Merritt cross and scored her team-high fifth goal from eight yards out.

UCO's lock-down defense did the rest, keeping the Tigers at bay the rest of the way.
