OKLAHOMA CITY (April 22) – Central Oklahoma lost a pair of three-set singles matches and had an eight-match winning streak snapped with a 5-4 upset loss to Tarleton State here Saturday morning in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Women's Tennis Championship.

The Bronchos led 2-1 after the three doubles bouts at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center, but Tarleton came back to win four of the six singles pairings – including three-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 – to rally for the win.

It was UCO's first loss since March 23, with a 7-2 neutral-site win over the TexAnns on April 6 included in the eight-match winning streak. The Bronchos fell to 17-9 on the year and will now wait to see if they will receive an at-large bid into the NCAA Division II national tournament.

Julia Shviadok and Eli Abramovic teamed up for an 8-4 win at No. 1, while Rose Cabato and Anna Kochigina overcame a 40-love deficit in securing the final point of an 8-6 victory at No. 3 to give the Bronchos a 2-1 lead after the doubles action.

Cabato and Kochigina then earned singles wins, but Tarleton won the other four matches to pull out the come-from-behind victory.
