DURANT, Okla. (March 25) -- An early lead didn't hold up for Central Oklahoma here Friday afternoon as Southeastern Oklahoma roared back to hand the Bronchos an 11-1 Lone Star Conference setback.
UCO scored its lone run in the top of the first and that 1-0 lead held up until the fourth when the Savage Storm scored twice to move in front 2-1. SOSU added three runs in the fifth and continued to pull away the rest of the game.
The Bronchos fell to 11-15 overall and 6-13 in the league with the loss, while the Savage Storm improved to 14-10 and 11-5. The two teams complete the three-game series Saturday, meeting for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
"A place like UCO brings expectations and nobody has more than myself," head coach Dax Leone said. "This series has a special place to every guy who has ever worn a uniform here and we didn't perform like we needed to today.
"We just need to put this game behind us and get ready for tomorrow. Hopefully we'll come out and play like we have the last couple of weeks."
Keegan Morrow had two of UCO's seven hits in the contest.
