Bronchos Earn Split

DURANT, Okla. (Feb. 19) -- Hannah Justus had three hits and drove in two runs to lead Central Oklahoma past Missouri Western as the Bronchos split a pair of games on the second day of the South Central Challenge here Saturday.

UCO turned back the Griffons 6-2 in its first game of the day before falling to No. 3-ranked Angelo State 10-0.  The Bronchos, now 4-2 on the year, finish the three-day tournament Sunday with games against No. 8 Nebraska-Omaha and Southern Arkansas.

Justus went 3-for-3 while also scored two runs to key UCO's offense, while Amanda McClelland picked up the pitching win with her third straight complete-game outing of the season.

The Bronchos got run-scoring singles from Brooke Walters and Brittany Weaver in taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning.  MWSU got a run in the fourth to make it 3-1, but UCO answered back with one of its own in the fifth on an RBI single by Megan Whitmire.

Justus pushed that lead to 6-1 in the sixth when she delivered a two-run double and the Griffons got their final run in the seventh.
