Netters Fall In Regional

ABILENE, Texas (Sept. 25) -- Central Oklahoma's Julia Shviadok and Eli Abramovic were eliminated in the round of 16 at the ITA South Central Regional Championship here Saturday.

Both players won two matches on Friday's opening day before losing their first match Saturday in the 64-player singles bracket, while Shviadok and Lacy Caldwell were knocked out in the second round of doubles after opening with a tough win.

The sixth-seeded Shviadok lost to Abilene Christian's Micah Hermsdorf, while Abramovic fell to ACU's Hannah Kelley.

Shviadok and Caldwell pulled out a 3-6, 6-1, 10-4 win over Mariana Freitas and Alicia Perez of Tarleton State in the first round of the doubles portion of the tournament before being ousted by Hermsdorf and Emily Conrad of ACU.

Abramovic and Anto Rossini lost their first-round doubles bout.

It was the only meet of the fall season for the Bronchos
