DALLAS (Sept. 21) -- Central Oklahoma dominated on the field but not on the scoreboard here Tuesday night as the Bronchos dropped a frustrating 3-1 decision to Dallas Baptist.
UCO outshot the Patriots 17-5 -- getting 10 shots on goal -- and had a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks, but DBU took advantage of its limited opportunties to lead all the way in ending the Bronchos' three-game winning streak.
"We were all over them and had some great chances to score and just couldn't get it in the net," UCO coach Mike Cook said. "It was a very frustrating game, but it just have to put it behind us and move on."
The Patriots scored three times in a 10-minute span midway through the first half to take a commanding 3-0 lead and the Bronchos were unable to answer.
UCO got its lone goal in the 52nd minute when Brittni Walker scored off a Stephanie Fleig assist, but DBU's goalkeeper made nine saves to keep the Bronchos at bay.
UCO, now 4-3 on the year, opens Lone Star Conference play Sunday at Southwestern Oklahoma.
