Matt Mossman Promoted To Full-Time Assistant

EDMOND – University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball head coach Bob Hoffman announced Wednesday Matt Mossman has been promoted to full-time assistant coach.

Mossman spent the 2021-22 season in a part-time assistant coaching role, helping the Bronchos win the MIAA regular season championship. Former assistant Daniel Wheeler accepted the head coaching position at East Central University last month and Hoffman moved Mossman into that vacant role.

"Matt is a great young man and a very hard worker," Hoffman said. "He goes above and beyond and does it with a great attitude. The guys already know him, and he knows the team from helping us last year on our way to the NCAA national tournament. We look forward to continuing to get better with him."

Mossman, from Norman, Oklahoma, is a Oklahoma graduate and has been affixed in programs with the Sooners and at Randall University in Moore.

He helped Central Oklahoma win its first MIAA title last season. The Bronchos posted a 24-7 overall record and an 18-4 mark in league play. The 18 MIAA wins by UCO are tied for the fifth-most in league history for a single season.

Mossman helped coach a handful of All-MIAA performers, as well as All-Region performers, as Central Oklahoma reached the 2022 NCAA Division II men's basketball national tournament.

Central Oklahoma will begin the 2022-23 season this November.
