Central Ranked 10th In Preseason Golf Poll

Bronchos Begin 2026-27 Season Next Week In Missouri

NORMAN, Okla. – Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 10 in the country in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches' Poll that was released Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Central Oklahoma tees off the new season Tuesday, Sept. 8 in The Mule, hosted by Central Missouri at Mules National. UCM is receiving votes in the preseason coaches' poll.

Defending national champion Florida Southern was picked first in the poll and received 13 of 16 first-place votes. Lee garnered two more first-place votes and is second in the poll. Georgia Southwestern, Grand Valley State, and Columbus State round out the top five. Wingate received the final first-place vote and is sixth in the poll. Nova Southeastern, Lincoln Memorial, and Catawba round out the top nine ahead of the Bronchos.

UCO is the only MIAA team ranked in the preseason poll. The Bronchos were picked No. 1 in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll announced Thursday.

Central's 2026-27 roster includes three-time All-American Nick Canales and returning All-MIAA selections Rhett Hughes and Bryant Polhill. Returners Andrew Talburt, Ty Hyatt, and Brock Jerman, as well as newcomers Jack Ensey, John Helzer, William Whorton, and Ross Wright round out the roster.

Central continues fall play Sept. 14 in Allendale, Michigan and Sept. 28 in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Bronchos are hosting the Skip Wagnon Invitational Oct. 5-6 at KickingBird Golf Club in Edmond and wrap up the fall schedule with the Newman Invitational Oct. 12-13 in Andover, Kansas.
