Kennedy Clark Named MIAA Hitter of the Week

Central Oklahoma Senior Led Bronchos To Key Road Wins

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kennedy Clark was named MIAA Hitter of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The senior first baseman for No. 17 Central Oklahoma led the Bronchos to a sweep of No. 2 Pittsburg State on the road last week. UCO also lost its doubleheader at No. 12 Missouri Southern.

Clark went 5-for-12 on the week with a pair of home runs, eight RBIs, and two runs scored. Friday at Pitt State, Clark went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Game 1 and 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs in Game 2. Saturday at Southern she went 1-for-3 in both games, with a three-run home run in Game 1 and an RBI single in Game 2.

From Richmond, Texas, Clark is hitting .338 this season with eight home runs, seven doubles, and one triple. She has 56 RBIs on the year and has scored 24 runs. Clark is one of five players to play in and start all 51 games for the Bronchos this season.

Central Oklahoma 39-12 overall with a 16-6 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos will celebrate Senior Day on Friday against Newman with the doubleheader scheduled for 12 p.m.
