Bronchos Ranked 11th In Golf Preseason Poll

Central Oklahoma Begins 2025-25 Season Sept. 8-9 In Missouri

NORMAN, Okla. – Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 11 in the country according to the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches' Poll announced Friday.

UCO opens the 2025-26 season Sept. 8-9 in Warrensburg, Missouri. The Bronchos are playing in The Mule at Central Missouri's Mules National. Central Oklahoma won the same event last season.

Derrick Thompson returns for his fifth season leading the Bronchos and he has five squad members back from last season, including All-Americans Baylor Bostick and Nick Canales. Rhett Hughes, Ty Hyatt, and Karsten Paciotti also return from last year's squad.

Thompson has led the Bronchos to 13 wins in four seasons, with 46 top-10 and 34 top five finishes. UCO won the regular season and postseason MIAA championship last season, and has won the last two NCAA Central/Midwest Regional Championships.

The Bronchos open at Central Missouri and will play five fall tournaments. UCO takes on the NSU Classic Sept. 15-16 before hosting the Skip Wagnon Invitational Oct. 6-7 at KickingBird Golf Club in Edmond. The Bronchos will compete in the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational Oct. 20-21 and the DBU Classic Oct. 27-28 to wrap up the fall season.
