More All-America Honors For Ritz, Lemos

UCO Standouts Earn D2CCA All-American Honors Following NFCA Nod Earlier This Week

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – More All-America honors were bestowed on Central Oklahoma's Terin Ritz and Rylee Lemos Thursday when the twosome were both recognized by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Ritz nabbed First-Team accolades at pitcher/utility, with Lemos making the Third-Team squad in the outfield. Ritz was a First-Team selection and Lemos a Second-Team pick on the NFCA All-America teams that were released Wednesday.

Lemos was also named to the NFCA Gold Glove Team that was announced Thursday, marking the second time in three years she's made that elite defensive squad.

The No. 4-ranked Bronchos are in the Division II Softball Championship Finals that starts Thursday, with the Bronchos set to squad off against No. 14 Pace at 6:30 p.m. (Eastern).

Ritz is now UCO's first-ever three-time Division II All-American and the dual-threat star has been a First-Team selection the last two years.

The senior slugger is one of Division II's top offensive threats, having smacked 18 doubles and 18 home runs while driving in 77 runs behind a .412 average. She ranks third nationally in RBI and sixth in homers.

A product of Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Ritz is also a dominating force in the circle for the Bronchos, having amassed a 23-4 record and 1.51 earned run average. She's appeared in 30 games with 27 starts and has thrown 10 shutouts with 137 walks and only 25 walks in 172.0 innings.

Lemos is UCO's sparkplug at the top of the lineup with a deadly combination of speed and power. She's batting .394 with 13 doubles, 11 homers, eight triples, 46 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

The junior from Oklahoma Union High School in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma tops the team in hits (75) and runs (69), ranking fifth nationally in runs. She's been perfect at left field in leading UCO's top-ranked defense and was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Year.
