EDMOND – Central Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene are meeting for the first of its kind Spring Football game Thursday at Chad Richison Stadium with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
UCO and SNU are utilizing a newly instituted NCAA rule permitting outside competition for football teams in the spring. While many schools in the state and around the country canceled traditional Spring games, the Bronchos and the Crimson Storm will play a full exhibition game Thursday night.
Central Oklahoma is offering a $10 general admission ticket for all seating inside Chad Richison Stadium. Clear-bag policies and security screening measurements will be in place. Concessions will be available on both the east and west sides of the stadium.
UCO's football team is hosting its annual Junior Day on Thursday, with check-in beginning at 3:45 p.m. on the east side of the stadium. Junior Day guests and their parents receive free admission.
Central's baseball team is also taking on Northwest Missouri State in the first of its three-game MIAA series against the Bearcats. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early with the influx of guests from Junior Day and the baseball game creating a busy evening on campus.
During the game, UCO's spirit teams will perform, and the University is releasing a special video pertaining to Homecoming in the fall.
Central Oklahoma went 11-2 in 2024, won the MIAA Championship, hosted a first-round playoff game, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship Super Region III Semifinals.
Southern Nazarene went 3-8 in 2024. The Crimson Storm beat then ranked No. 1 Ouachita Baptist, who UCO hosted and beat in the first round of the playoffs. SNU was 0-8 before the OBU game and won its final three contests of the season.
