Bronchos Fall In Ninth At UCM

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma dropped its second game at No. 3 Central Missouri Saturday, falling 7-6 in the game that saw most of its runs scored in the final two innings.

UCO is now 29-10 on the season with the loss and 19-8 in the MIAA. Central Missouri is 27-9 overall and 18-6 in league play.

The Bronchos looked to even the series Saturday. UCO got a 1-0 lead in the first inning, then tied the game 2-2 in the third inning. Pitching prevailed for both teams from there.

Danny Satterlee threw 7.0 innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits and a walk. He struck out four batters. UCM's starter went 6.0 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks. He also struck out four.

Then the offense took over late.

Central Oklahoma jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the top of the eighth inning. Ty Hammack hit his second RBI double of the game to score Caden Robertson. Orlando Gonzalez then scored Hammack with a single. And Joe Ricchio scored Gonzalez with a sacrifice fly to give the Bronchos the 5-2 lead.

But UCM responded with three runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game heading to the ninth.

The Bronchos kept pushing in the ninth, adding one more to take the lead. Matt Baughn was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and Austin Oldham came on as a pinch runner. He advanced to second and third on a passed ball, then scored on a sacrifice fly from Ty Chapman.

Chase Yarger relieved Satterlee in the eighth and Valek Cisneros came on to finish that inning. In the ninth, he started with a flyout to left before a four-pitch walk. Cisneros struck out the next batter, but issued another four-pitch walk after that.

UCM tied the game with an RBI double to right field and followed that with a walkoff RBI single through the right side of the infield to win 7-6.

Hammack went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Grant Randall and Robertson both had triples. Gonzalez, Ricchio, and Baughn had hits. Chapman and Hammack had two RBIs each.
