Bronchos Visit Rogers State Saturday Afternoon

Central Oklahoma Begins Three-Game Road Trip In Claremore

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Central Oklahoma opens a three-game road trip Saturday with a trip east of Tulsa for an MIAA matchup with Rogers State. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
 
UCO is 14-9 this season, with an 8-6 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos are tied for fifth in the league standings with three weeks left in the season. Rogers State is 18-8 this season and 9-5 in the MIAA, one game in front of the Bronchos.
 
Central Oklahoma has five games left in the regular season, with the next three on the road. The Bronchos play at Washburn and at Central Missouri next weekend before closing with Arkansas Fort Smith and Northeastern State in two weeks.
 
The MIAA Basketball Championship begins March 5 in Kansas City, with 10 teams qualifying for the postseason tournament. UCO was eighth in the first KPI ranking earlier this week. The league is using KPI to determine seeding for the 10-team postseason.
 
UCO and Rogers State three times before the Hillcats from Claremore joined the MIAA, and 11 times since. The series is tied, 7-7, with UCO winning the most recent meeting in Edmond two months ago. The Bronchos are 4-4 in Edmond and 3-3 in Claremore, with the last win at RSU coming in 2023 for the Bronchos.
 
The Bronchos come into Saturday afternoon's matchup averaging 81.8 points per game this season shooting 46.5 percent from the floor overall. UCO shoots 34.8 percent from behind the 3-point line with an average of 7.5 makes per game, and 71.1 percent from the free-throw line with an average of 14.8 makes per game.
 
Defensively, Central Oklahoma gives up 71.2 points per game, with opponents shooting 42.4 percent against the Bronchos. Teams shoot 31.1 percent from behind the 3-point line and 73.4 percent at the free-throw line against UCO.
 
Israel Hart leads Central Oklahoma in scoring at 16.0 points per game. The senior guard is fifth in the MIAA at that rate. Hart shoots 42.2 percent overall, 37.3 percent from three, and 82.5 percent from the free-throw line. He leads the Bronchos in free-throws made (85) and attempted (103). Hart also averages 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.
 
Jacobi Sebock is UCO's second-leading scorer at 13.8 points per game. The junior forward leads UCO and the MIAA pulling down 7.5 rebounds per game. Sebock's 173 rebounds are the second-most in the league. He also shoots 53.0 percent overall and adds 1.5 steals and 1.0 block per game this season.
 
JV Seat averages 12.8 points per game and the junior guard leads the team with 40 made 3-pointers through 23 games played. Seat shoots 40.9 percent overall and 35.1 percent from 3-point range. He is 66-for-78 at the free-throw line and his 84.6 percent mark is fifth best in the MIAA.
 
Jordan Thompson averages 11.7 points per game to give UCO four in double figures. The senior point guard adds 4.3 assists per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, and 2.5 steals per game. Thompson is fifth in the league in assists and second in steals per game this season. He plays a team-high 31.7 minutes per game.
 
Luke Haasl adds 8.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. Matthew Willenborg scores 4.6 points to go with 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. Willenborg and Haasl rank first and second in the MIAA in blocks per game.
 
Parker Hannah is another key reserve, averaging 6.4 points per game this season. Hannah shoots 36.8 percent from behind the 3-point line with 32 makes this season.
 
UCO also gets contributions from Jarreth Ingram (4.0 PPG), Ben Averitt (2.7), and Preston Aymond (2.1).
 
Rogers State is hosting Central Oklahoma Saturday looking to extend a two-game winning streak. The Hillcats are 8-2 at home this season.
 
Central Oklahoma travels to Washburn and Central Missouri next weekend before hosting Arkansas Fort Smith and Northeastern State to close out the regular season March 1.
