Central Oklahoma Plays Final Game of 2025 Tuesday Night

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma returns to the hardwood for one last time in 2025 Tuesday with a non-conference matchup against McPherson College.

UCO went 4-7 in the first semester but took a three-game win streak into the break. The Bulldogs from McPherson College are 6-7 on the season and took a six-game losing streak into the break.

"It will be good to get back on the floor," UCO head women's basketball coach Hannah Moeller said. "We need to work to not lose the momentum we gained at the end the semester and work on carrying that into the new year."

Central Oklahoma's first six games included three against teams in the WBCA Top 25, and two of those were in the Top 10 in Division II. UCO picked up its first win of the year in November against Midwestern State in Edmond, then against NAIA Evangel at home in December to start the three-game win streak. UCO went to St. Mary's in San Antonio, Texas and won against a team that is receiving votes in the latest WBCA poll and also won at Sul Ross State, scoring a season-high 75 points in the final game of the first semester.

The Bronchos are averaging 60.9 points per game through 11 games played this season. UCO shoots 36.2 percent from the floor as a team, including 25.5 percent from behind the 3-point line with an average of 4.3 made threes per game. Central shoots 63.8 percent from the free-throw line and averages 11.5 made free-throws per contest.

Defensively, Central Oklahoma gives up an average of 62.9 points per game and teams are shooting 36.3 percent from the floor against the Bronchos. Opponents shoot 31.7 percent from behind the 3-point line and average 6.3 made 3-pointers per game, and opponents shoot 75.0 percent from the free-throw line and average 12.8 made free-throws per game.

Nykaiya Dillard and Kaitlyn McCarn lead UCO in scoring at 12.5 and 12.1 points per game. Dillard leads the team playing just 17.4 minutes per game off the bench. She shoots 41.4 percent overall and has a team-high in free-throws made (38) and attempted (58). McCarn has a team-high 52 made baskets and is 23-for-29 (79.3 pct.) at the line this season. Dillard's 1.8 steals per game also leads the team and McCarn's 5.0 rebounds per game is third on the team.

Jerney Bennett is third in scoring at 7.8 points per game and leads the team in rebounds (8.1) and blocked shots (4.2). Bennett ranks third in the NCAA in total blocks (46) and blocks per game and she leads the MIAA in both categories. She ranks sixth in the MIAA in total rebounds (89) and fourth in rebounds per game.

Bennett's blocks this season have quickly shot her up the UCO top 10 list for a single season. She is tied for eighth most after 11 games, is one shy of sixth place, and can reach the top five with just five more blocks.

Bobbie Fouquet adds 6.9 points per game, Olivia Quapaw averages 6.5, and Kendrick Bailey adds 4.2 points per game. The trio leads the team in 3-pointers this season. Bailey has a team-high 12 makes from deep and Fouquet and Quapaw both have eight made threes.
