Central Oklahoma Hosts SWOSU Wednesday Night

Bronchos Play First Home Game Against Oldest Rival

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma makes its 2025-26 home debut Wednesday night when the Bronchos host Southwestern Oklahoma State in a non-conference matchup at Hamilton Field House.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

"Southwestern is a good team and we're going to have to play a really good game in every area," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "You can't make a lot of mistakes because they make you pay for them. It'll be good to play at home in front of our fans after the first five away."

UCO is 3-2 this season and on a two-game win streak following a successful weekend in Tahlequah where the Bronchos beat Minnesota Crookston and Arkansas Monticello in a Central Region crossover event. The Bronchos went 1-2 at the season-opening D2CCA Canadian Tipoff Classic in Langley, British Columbia Oct. 31-Nov. 2 with a win over Simon Fraser and losses to No. 18 Central Washington and Western Washington.

SWOSU is 1-1 on the season following a weekend of competition in another Central Region crossover event in Joplin, Missouri. The Bulldogs beat Newman on Friday before falling to host Missouri Southern on Saturday. SWOSU earned a 14-point win over Newman and only lost by a point, 77-76, to MSSU.

SWOSU outrebounded its opponents 76-75 this past weekend, averaged 9.5 assists per game, and had only 15 turnovers in the two games.

UCO has played Southwestern more than any other school, meeting the Bulldogs 156 times on the hardwood. Last season was the first since 2018 and SWOSU picked up the 65-57 win in Weatherford.

Central Oklahoma is averaging 67.0 points per game through five games played and shooting 44.7 percent overall. The Bronchos have made 19 of 67 3-point attempts (28.4 percent) and 62 of 96 free-throw attempts (64.6 pct.). UCO has outrebounded opponents 35.4 – 32.8 per game this season. Central is averaging 12.8 assists to just 11.6 turnovers per game, adding 8.0 steals and 4.0 blocks per game on the young season.

Senior Josh Nwankwo leads the team into the home opener on Wednesday night. The Oklahoma City native plays a team-high 35.4 minutes per game and leads the team with 19.2 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. He is shooting 53.6 percent overall, 45.5 percent from behind the arc, and 73.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Jacobi Sebock, who earned All-MIAA honors last season, is averaging 15.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game. The senior from Midwest City is shooting 50.9 percent overall and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.
