Bronchos Win Again, Bostick Earns First Career Victory

Central Oklahoma Wins Its Third Tournament In Four Events This Season

MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – No. 6 Central Oklahoma rolled to its third win of the season Tuesday at the Missouri Southern State University Fall Invitational at Shangri-La.
 
UCO posted a 10-under-par 854 to take top honors. Second-place Washburn shot an 887. Missouri Western (891), Pittsburg State (892), and Central Missouri (895) rounded out the top five.
 
Baylor Bostick won his first career tournament, taking top honors with a 4-under-par 212 this week. The junior from Duncan had finished third three times and second place once before earning his first career victory on Tuesday.
 
Bostick shot a 1-over 73 on Monday but responded with a big 5-under 67 in the second round. On Tuesday, he played even-par through 18 holes to get the win. Bostick sank 12 birdie putts this week.
 
Bryant Polhill was one shot back of Bostick in second place, nearly earning his first career victory on Tuesday. The sophomore from Edmond shot an even-par 72 and a 2-under 70 on Monday and followed with a 1-under 71 Tuesday to secure second place. Polhill sank 15 birdie putts this week, five in each of the three rounds this week.
 
Nick Canales finished tied for fifth with a 2-over 218. After a tough start Monday with an 80, Canales followed with a 4-under 68 and then shot a 2-under 70 on Tuesday to work his way back up the leaderboard. Canales sank 14 birdie putts this week, including six on Tuesday.
 
Rhett Hughes finished tied for seventh. The sophomore from Edmond shot a 1-under 71 and a 6-over 78 on Monday and was back in the red with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday. Hughes had an eagle on Monday in the first round and sank 10 birdie putts in the tournament.
 
UCO's fifth was Karsten Paciotti, who finished tied for 34th individually. He shot a 227 (77-73-77). Brock Jerman also competed as an individual this week and shot a 231 (77-82-72) to finish tied for 50th.
 
Central Oklahoma has won three of four tournaments this season and has one more on the fall schedule. The Bronchos play next Monday and Tuesday at Rockwall Golf Club in Dallas Baptist's DBU Classic.
