Central Oklahoma Named No. 2 Seed At National Duals

Bronchos Take On UMary In Opener Friday Morning

MANHEIM, Pa. – Central Oklahoma has been named the No. 2 seed in this weekend's NWCA Division II National Duals with the organization releasing the bracket for the two-day tournament featuring 16 of the best teams in the country set for Jan. 10-11 at the University of Northern Iowa.
 
UCO will face UMary (N.D.) in the opening round Friday at 10 a.m. Wisconsin-Parkside and Central Missouri will also face off at the time, with winners and losers meeting each other at noon Friday. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. and the championship match Saturday at 3 p.m. Consolation rounds will continue Friday and Saturday.
 
Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 4 in the country in the latest NWCA national rankings. The Bronchos, winners of each of the last two national titles, were ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll and the first regular rankings. Following a runner-up finish at the Midwest Classic, UCO dipped to fourth.

Central Oklahoma has seven starters ranked in the Top 10 of their respective weight classes, including No. 1 Gabe Johnson at 157 pounds. Studd Morris (125), Dylan Lucas (141), and Garrett Wells (184) are all ranked fifth individually, while Dylan Brown (149) and Hunter Jump (165) are seventh, and Peter Rolle (133) is 10th.
 
UCO has a 4-0 dual record this season with a 2-0 mark in the MIAA. The Bronchos have won 26 consecutive duals and 51 of their last 52 duals. Central had a 25-match win streak snapped by St. Cloud State in the National Duals final in 2023 but has won 26 consecutive since that narrow 19-16 decision.
 
Coming out of this weekend's tournament, UCO has six more duals on its schedule for the 2024-25 season. The Bronchos travel to Drury Jan. 24 before hosting Colorado State Pueblo Jan. 26. Central hosts Fort Hays State (Feb. 2) and Nebraska Kearney (Feb. 7) before visiting Central Missouri (Feb. 15) in three consecutive MIAA duals. UCO wraps up the regular season with a home contest against New Mexico Highlands Feb. 16 in Edmond.
 
The 2025 NCAA Super Region IV Championships are scheduled for March 1 in Warrensburg, Missouri. The 2025 NCAA Division II Championships are scheduled for March 14-15 in Indianapolis.
