Biography

Senior veteran returning from injury looking to regain his starting spot at 125 pounds … National tournament qualifier in 2022-23 and was expected to be a prime All-America contender last year before suffering season-ending knee injury during preseason drills … Has worked hard to get back to full strength and will be tough to keep out of the lineup … Has shown that he can be a force on the national stage and enters his final season with 71-21 career record and 35 bonus-point victories … Owns aggressive style and is constantly pushing the action, especially on his feet … Gained international experience in summer of 2022 as part of Italian National Team, winning bronze medal at Mediterranean Games in Algeria … Sat out redshirt year at Oklahoma in 2018-19 before transferring to UCO … Retained a year of eligibility when the NCAA elected to not count the 2020-21 season.

2023-24: Missed season to injury, but received hardship to retain year of eligibility.

2022-23: Earned starting spot at the outset and never let go, finishing season with most wins (34) and matches (41) on the team … Ended up 34-7 with 17 bonus wins, including 11 major decisions … Opened season with nine-match winning streak and was 18-1 at one point … Won 11 straight matches late in the season … Scored 10-plus points in 14 bouts … Took titles at the Dan Harris and Drury opens, going 5-0 with four major decisions and a fall at Drury … Runner-up at Lindenwood Open with overtime loss in finals to Oklahoma State wrestler … Took fifth in rugged Midwest Classic … Earned national tournament berth with championship effort at Regional IV Tournament, going 4-0 in that event … Opened with a first-period fall and back-to-back major decisions before pulling out 3-1 triumph in gold medal match … Was seeded sixth at nationals, but suffered 2-0 loss in first round … Bounced back with 15-3 major decision and 13-6 win before being eliminated in wild 13-10 match by the No. 4 seed, finishing one win away from earning All-America honors.

2021-22: Fashioned 12-5 record with seven bonus-point wins, collecting 44 takedowns in those 17 matches … Went 5-1 in placing third in Lindenwood Open and was co-third in Dan Harris Open with teammate Garrett Steidley … Wrestled three duals at 133 in place of injured started, going 2-1 with 16-5 and 12-3 major decisions.

2020-21: Wrestled four exhibitions during shortened dual season, going 4-0 with three major decisions … Outscored those four opponents a combined 52-13.

2019-20: Enjoyed stellar season while competing in six open tournaments and four duals, finishing 21-9 with eight bonus-point wins … Was runner-up in the Norsemen Open and took third in the Swede, Lindenwood and Jet opens … Went 3-1 in duals with one major decision.

OU: Sat out redshirt year for the Sooners.

High School: Regional champion and state runner-up as a senior at Yukon High School … All-State pick following final season, winning that match 14-3.
