Biography

Senior veteran and returning starter who will battle to stay atop the depth chart at 133 pounds … Hard-working lightweight looking to finish career in style this season … Gained much-needed starting experience last year and capable of really helping the Bronchos … Especially dangerous when in control on the mat … Redshirted in 2019-20, then wrestled one match in 2020-21 and retained year of eligibility when NCAA didn’t count the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season … Saw extensive action in back-up role in 2021-22, wrestled sparingly the following year due to injuries and started most of last season.

2023-24: Finished 15-9 with nine bonus-point wins, including six falls, while starting most of the season … Consolation champion at the Drury Open, bouncing back from first-round loss with three falls and a major decision … Placed fourth in the Regional IV Tournament in coming up just short of national tournament berth … Opened with a first-period fall, then dropped close 13-11 decision in the semifinals … Rebounded with another pin before falling 7-4 in consolation finals.

2022-23: Hampered by injuries all year and appeared in one dual, picking up forfeit against Central Missouri.

2021-22: Lettered in back-up role while competing in five open tournaments and one dual … Finished 14-9 with seven falls and one major decision … Had pair of falls in runner-up finish at Bob Smith Open, took third in the Dan Harris Open and placed fourth in freshman-sophomore division of the Lindenwood Open.

2020-21: Wrestled one exhibition match, losing close decision.

2019-20: Competed in two open tournaments during redshirt year, going 8-4 with five falls … Wrestled at 141 in the Oklahoma City Open and then took third in the Norsemen Open at 149, going 4-2 with three first-period pins in that event.

High School: Two-time state qualifier at Edmond Memorial High School, finishing runner-up as a junior … Also lettered in football and baseball for the Bulldogs.

Personal: General studies major … Dad (David) played on UCO’s 1982 national championship football team … Enjoys fishing as a hobby … Names the Denver Broncos as his top team … Lists Garth Brooks as his favorite musician … Birthdate is Sept. 25, 2000.
