Biography

Past All-American coming back from injury ready to be a prime contender at 141 pounds this season … All-American at 133 three years ago and a national qualifier at 141 in 2023-24 who earned extra year of eligibility after missing most of last season … Hard-nosed senior who stays on the attack with aggressive style and capable of scoring a bundle of bonus points for the Bronchos … Tough on his feet but even better when in control on the mat … Owns 58-15 career record with amazing 41 bonus-point wins … Started college career at Oklahoma, redshirting there in 2015-16, then spent following season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M … Entered the work force after that for several years before returning to school – and the mat – at UCO in 2022.

2024-25: Started season with five straight wins, including key 5-3 victory over eventual All-American Ronan Schuelke of McKendree in UCO’s 19-18 dual win … Made semifinals at rugged Midwest Classic before suffering two straight losses, then ended with 6-3 win over eventual third-place national finisher Sean Solis of Mary … Didn’t compete again and earned injury hardship ruling, finishing 6-2 with four bonus wins.

2023-24: Put together a fantastic season, going 29-7 with 20 bonus wins … Scored 10-plus points in 16 matches while notching eight technical falls, six major decisions and six falls … Scored 62 points in winning four matches at Lindenwood Open in season debut to win consolation title there … Won Drury Open with three bonus wins and pair of easy decisions … Went 5-1 in finishing runner-up at the rugged Midwest Classic, scoring two technical falls and two major decisions before dropping 4-3 finals decision … Claimed second straight Regional IV championship with 3-0 performance … Opened with 19-3 technical fall before pulling out tough 6-3 and 4-2 wins, avenging an earlier loss to McKendree’s Ronan Schuelke in the finals … Was seeded third at nationals and started fast with a second-period fall, but lost 2-1 tiebreaker in the quarterfinals to No. 6 Nick James of Nebraska-Kearney and was eliminated with a second straight loss.

2022-23: Showed no rust from long layoff in exploding out of the gates, then bounced back from mid-season slump to finish 23-6 with 17 bonus wins at 133 … Started 14-1 with 11 bonus wins, winning two tournaments and finishing runner-up in another… Had two falls, two technical falls and a major decision in winning Dan Harris Open … Took Outstanding Wrestler honors at the prestigious Midwest Classic after rolling to that title with four bonus wins and a 9-2 finals victory … Runner-up at the Lindenwood Open, dropping wild 12-10 finals decision to Oklahoma State’s Reese Witcraft … Struggled to start the second-semester schedule, losing four of six matches while also missing a few duals … Came back strong in the postseason to capture Regional IV crown and finish third at national tournament … Wasn’t tested at the regional with a fall and back-to-back 8-0 major decisions … Was seeded only eighth at nationals and opened with first-period fall before losing 5-3 to the No. 1 seed … Rebounded with four straight wins to take third, beating the Nos. 2, 4 and 7 seeds in the process.

NEO: Put together sensational season in 2016-17 with the Golden Norse, going 28-3 and finishing as national runner-up at 149 … Captured West-Central District title with finals fall to qualify for nationals and went 4-1 there, dropping 8-6 decision in gold medal match.

High School: Enjoyed phenomenal prep career, finishing with staggering 229-1 career record while winning five state championships … Won four state titles in Florida before family moved to Oklahoma and claimed Class 3A crown for Plainview High School as a senior … Also a football letterman for the Indians … Won 2010 USA Wrestling national championship in Greco-Roman to make the World Team.

Personal: Physical education/health major looking to become a teacher and coach … Younger brother (Ty) was a three-time All-American with the Bronchos who finished his career in 2023 … Names the Dallas Cowboys as his top team … Lists Lil Wayne as his favorite musician … Birthdate is Oct. 3, 1995.
